1. Lens reactions Look for variable shade lenses, these come on all auto-darkening filters. When the sensor detects the light from the arc the lens begins to darken, depending on the arcs brightness. Being able to adjust how long the lens stays dark when you have finished welding with adjustable delay settings, is really important. Generally, for shorter welding jobs keep delays short, for longer jobs with higher amperage, the delays should be longer. This will protect your eyes from harmful UV rays.
